What? How? When? Why? Where?
Do I need to make an appointment to paint pottery or make glass?
No. We have an open studio at all times. If you are bringing in a large group, we appreciate a heads up so we can try to set aside a large table.
Do I need to be artistic to paint pottery or make glass?
Absolutely not! We are all about art being easy. We have many tips and tricks to help you create a wonderful project.
Can 2 of us do glass and 2 of us do pottery?
Yes, but not at the same table. Glass and bisque do not normally mix so we have separate work areas for glass and bisque painting is in the studio.
How much does it cost?
For Bisque & Stoneware, each piece is individually priced. We have pottery starting at $12.00 For Glass, pieces are priced by size, shape (square or circle), plus specialty glass and features are extra. Pendants (1.5" square or 1"x2") are $7, Night Lights are $25. The most popular size is an 8" square bowl for $54.00.
Can I bring food and drinks?
Both are welcome. You can even have food delivered. However, we do not recommend eating while painting. Greasy fingers will prevent the glaze from sticking to your ceramic projects.
Are the paints safe for kids? Do I need to bring an apron?
The paints are non-toxic, lead-free, and completely safe. We do have aprons. We are recommending aprons when painting Stoneware as some of the glazes can stain.
Is the pottery safe to eat off of?
The paints are lead-free, and are completely safe to eat off of. Nothing is better than eating off of a plate that you have painted. Always brings a smile to my face!
How old do you need to be to paint?
We welcome all ages, really.
How old do you need to be to make a glass project?
Age 8+ without adult supervision. Ask about our child safe glass for younger kids.
How long does it take?
It usually takes 2 hours to complete an average project. Classes usually take 3 hours.
What if I don't finish my project?
We will carefully wrap up your pottery in paper to take home with you. You are welcome to come back and finish anytime without any additional fees. We recommend this two-step process for handprint plates if you're with young children who can't sit still long enough for you to paint the whole piece. Glass and clay projects need to be completed in one sitting.
How long does it take to get my project back.
Your bisque creations requires at least 10 day. If it will take longer because of special circumstances, we will let you know. December is the exception. We cannot guarantee 1 week delivery in December. However, it typically only takes a week even in December. Fused Glass, clay, and stoneware requires up to 2 weeks.
Will you call me when my project is ready?
No, but we will Text you when your pottery is ready! So please provide a cellular number. If you give us a land line, please call us to see if your project is ready after 7 days.
Can I rush a piece?
We typically can rush a piece for a $10 fee per item.
What happens if I cannot pick up my piece when it is ready. After approximately 30 days, we will start calling and reminding you to pick up. After 45 days, due to limited space, your item will be donated.
Will you ship?
Yes, we will ship your project for an additional $5 fee plus actual cost of postage. A credit card payment is required. We are very careful with the packing, but are not responsible for damage in shipping. Please note that shipping will delay the delivery of the project.
Will you fire pieces not painted in your studio?
We offer outside firing on a limited basis and it requires management approval.
Are you part of a national chain?
No, we are proud to be family owned and operated. Ceramics N More has been in business for 18years.
